Getting in touch about California licensing and exams

You can write about a page here that looks wrong. What no one outside the certification unit can tell you is what the certification unit will decide about your own file.

What I can help with

What only the authority can answer

Whether your own hours will be accepted, whether your out of state experience counts, or where your application sits today.

Those are determinations, not facts, and they are made by the people who issue the license. Anyone else answering is guessing at your expense.

Who answers

Jeff Clerisier. One person, no queue.

Write to [email protected]. If a page is wrong, quote the sentence and say what you were told instead, and the correction goes in the log with the date.

California approves electrician trainee schools and continuing education providers. This site is neither, and nothing here counts toward the related and supplemental instruction a trainee has to be enrolled in.

The certification exam is open book, but the books are supplied inside the testing system and you may not bring your own. The National Electrical Code supplied there is the 2023 edition. The contractor trade exam is closed book.

All practice questions are original. They are not actual exam questions.
